A lot has been said about dieting, that is restricting your food intake, about the pursue of girls around the globe to look the best then can (the thinnest they can), as well as about the diseases connected with that acting with accordance to that scheme.
I have never been personally interested in none of the aforementioned. I do not want to sound as if I never felt the pressure to look good, to be thin and never eat anything that could potentially make me fatter. I reckon everyone goes through that phase sooner or later in their lifes. The fact is though that I have gone through it quite smoothly and without any disorders, be it mental or physical ones.
However due to the most recent events in which I was told to put on weight, I was forced to think about the problem. As I said, I have never really cared what I ate. As long as I wasn't completely full or dying of starvation I was happily eating whatever I fancied. It turns out it was too little.
The background of the story is that recently I have caught a couple of subsequent colds, as well as was generally physically weak and undergoing weird immune system failure(ish?) things.
I was told to put on weight, which is completely logical considering my BMI is on the verge of being out of the 'healthy scale'. Thinking about it now, this was exactly the moment when instead of thinking 'sure thing, two pounds more or less doesn't make a difference' I thought 'girl, that is ridiculous, who do you think I am to put on weight and get fat?'.
All my life I believed I am better than that. That since I've always frowned upon the whole 'get thinner get better' scheme, I will not have a problem with the idea of putting on weight.
Needless to say, I will do it. There's no debating over it and I am not at all against the idea of eating more. I'm just a bit frightened with my automatic response to the idea. How many more aspects of my life am I a hypocrite about?
Hope you're all having an amazing day x
We'll see how it goes.
