I've been thinking of Facebook and social media in general today.
Do you want to know what I've managed to come up with?
Well, I'll tell you anyway :)
I'm in the middle of my mock exams right now, as well as a couple of other things that are efficiently depriving me of my free time. Oh well, that's how life works, I suppose.
Anyways, I thought about how much time I normally spend on using Facebook. By the way, I find the choice of the word USING slightly amusing. That's not an appropriate word for that, can one even use Facebook? You normally just stare at other people's walls, so I reckon spending time staring at Facebook is more of an adequate expession here.
Notwithstanding of that fact, there inevitably comes a moment in one's life when they start thinking of blocking their Facebook pages and start living "normally" doing what they have to do (or, preferably, what they enjoy doing) without any unnecessary distractions.
You know what though? If one does that, they may as well commit suicide.
And no, I do not think that Facebook is something that is the centre of one's life. I am not trying to prove that one does not mean anything without a Facebook page. What is more, I do not believe that you cannot have a life without it.
I'm merely stating that if you don't have enough guts to stand up to what is distracting you from what you should do and keep succumbing to wasting time on Facebook, then you're giving in to the same mechanism that pushes one to suicide: trying to avoid life.
Well,
We'll see how it goes.
